World Social Business Day
28 June 2011, the birthday of Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank, was declared as the World’s 1st Social Business Day for his incomparable contribution towards the concept of Social Business.
On this occasion, a live video-conferencing with Prof. Muhammad Yunus was organized wherein 30 major B-schools in India participated. The video-conference started around 1 pm at Juhu Jagruti Conference Hall and 50 students from all three fileds participated. The conference was on the topic of Social Business and Prof. Muhammad Yunus explained us the need and importance of it. He also taught us how future entrepreneurs can contribute towards the society through the concept of Social Business. Attendees from 5 B-schools were allowed to ask 2 questions each and seek answers on the same. Off which 2 of our students were given this opportunity.The conference ended around 3 pm with vote of thanks to Prof. Muhammad Yunus for his contribution towards the society. It was a great experience for the volunteers as they were enlightened with the knowledge of Social Business.
