The NSS unit of USHA PRAVIN GANDHI College of management had organized a Street play training session for its volunteers in association with the Red Ribbon Club. This session was conducted by Mr. Pradeep Gupta, a professional actor who has worked for more than 25 years in plays. In the beginning of the session students were educated about the four types of communication used to convey the message to the audience. This communication included the signs, speech and gestures of the actor. These were the basic expressions used by an actor. After this theory session, a trial session was conducted where volunteers practiced various exercises that the actors carry out before performing onstage. Finally, the students were divided in groups and were asked to perform a small skit that had some social message in it. A preparation time of 10 minutes was given to the volunteers. The volunteers performed exceptionally well. After the performance, Pradeep sir marked on their flaws and made sure that they do not repeat them again. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks to Pradeep sir for educating the volunteers about the basics of acting.
