Seminar on AIDS, RTI, STI and Stigma Discrimination.

NSS volunteers of USHA PRAVIN GANDHI College of Management organized a seminar on AIDS, RTI, STI and Stigma Discrimination on 18th November, 2011 at 3:00pm. The seminar that helped to spread awareness and educate NSS volunteers was held by Ms. Jayshree Thakur and Mr. Akshay Kamble of ‘YASHE Organization’.

 The seminar started with an interactive discussion on the importance of sex education for today’s generation. They were very effective in explaining the psychological as well as physiological development amongst the youngsters. Psychological development such as having a sense of well being, looking good and attraction to the opposite sex and Physiological development  such as shooting up in height, Deeping of voice etc  in boys, development of breast, starting of menstrual cycle etc in girls.

They also discussed about reproductive tract infection (RTI), sexually transmitted infection (STI), how it is caused and how to prevent it. They showed us a video on aids, discussed its symptoms and how it is transmitted.

As for Stigma discrimination they told the volunteers how they should make people aware of it and instead of hiding how infected people should take precaution.
