N.S.S. Week Celebration
The N.S.S. volunteers of Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management participated in the intercollegiate competition organised by the University of Mumbai on the theme “MERI BETI.. PYARI BETI”. The first round of the competition took place at zone level. The events included, ‘Poster with a slogan’, ‘Group Song’ and ‘Street Play’, thus the winners of each zone competed at university level on 30th November, 2012 with 24 entries for each event.
The program began at 10.30 am at Sir Phirozashah Mehta Hall, Kalina Cmapus. The chairperson of UWDC, Dr. Kranti Jayankar’s felicitated the honourable chief guest Prof. Smt Varsha Gaikwad, Minister, Department of Women and Children Development and Vice –Chancellor, Dr. Rajan Welukar with a token of appreciation. They briefly discussed about social issues related to woman and the theme. Later, the participants were asked to move to another auditorium according to their respective events.
Post lunch all the performances were taking simultaneously in three different locations at the university itself. The results were announced in the evening, which are as follow: Our college won the consolation prize for ‘Poster with a Slogan ‘and 2nd prize for ‘Group Song’. It was a neck to neck competition.
