Gurupurnima Celebration
Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the Immortal. A teacher has an immense role in shaping individuals. Gurupurnima is a special day to celebrate and thank teachers for their passion, their love towards us, their contribution in molding and instilling values in a student. As an expression of gratitude and love toward teachers of, the team of NSS had organized a small special event on July 15th 2011.
All the volunteers assembled after lectures on the fourth floor to prepare for this event. The NSS team made beautiful, personalized cards for all the teachers. However, the biggest surprise for the day, were the songs that the volunteers dedicated to all the teachers present which signified something about their personality, relationship and bond with the students.
The event was graced by our principal ma’am Dr. (Mrs.) Geetha Mohan and by other teaching staff which included Prof. from all the three streams viz. BMS, BMM and Bsc IT. After everyone was seated, the volunteers arranged themselves, in the form of a choir, and as the bouquets and cards were being handed out, all sang a particular song for the respective teacher. The teachers were very touched by the gesture.
