Gandhi Jayanti Celebration
2nd of October, the birth date of Gandhiji (bapu) , was celebrated with great enthusiasm by all NSS volunteers. The venue for the function was the NSS headquarters (Mumbai).
The function was attended by many NSS units across Mumbai. The function was gracefully started by lighting up the candle and paying homage to Father of nation, Gandhiji as well as to Lal bahadur Shashtri who shares his birthday on the same day. The event was further carried on by singing prayers and NSS song by 2 NSS volunteers. The function was embraced by guest of honours who imbided us with Gandhian principles and importance of Gandhian values in our life. Mr Salunke and Mr.Sonawne both shared their experience and their views and imparted us with the great knowledge and highlighted various incidents of Gandhiji’s life.
Then took place the most awaited award ceremony and NSS volunteers were felicitated for their excellence in various fields i.e. elocution, poster making and essay writing. Finally we took pledge for non violent and better India and ended up singing National anthem and shouting slogans.
