The one phrase which could summarize what the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit stands for and believes in. In an age where most would be content in satisfying their own needs, the NSS volunteers set a precedent by moving out of their confines and working for a better society and environment. NSS, in its year of inception (2010) went through the preliminary stages of setting up its base which saw the appointment of programme officers and the student body comprising of 50 members. Our Principal, Dr.(Mrs). Geetha Mohan, was instrumental in setting up the NSS unit along with program officers Prof. Babita Kachroo, Prof. Mudassar Qureshi and Secretary Mr. Dilip Vaviya. Throughout the year UPG NSS has been involved in an array of activities right from Health Awareness Drives to Educational Projects UPG NSS promises to grow from strength to strength and instil sensitivity not only amongst its student volunteers but also the society at large.
